Webb25 mars 2024 · Curious if anyone has plate resistors installed in series between plate Pin 3 and CT on their builds? The point is to be able to measure the current via voltage setting on the meter just like the cathode. I would put in test points on either side of the resistors on the top of my DIY chassis with the bias pots accessible without opening chassis. Webb16 feb. 2024 · Serpentine cuts are also occasionally used for adjusting metal plate sense resistors. These resistors generally use resistive material comprised of exotic alloys such as manganese-copper or nickel-chromium-aluminum to obtain special properties such as low inductance or low thermal EMF.

Why not just use one resistor and cap instead of 2 resistors?

WebbThe resistor made of stainless steel wire is placed in an aluminum case with a larger surface which allows good heat dissipation. The space between the resistor and the case is filled with a material that has high thermal conductivity and electrical insulation. WebbIf we have a 150V DC supply available for the stage, that means we need to drop 50V across the plate load resistor, at a current of 0.5mA. Ohm's law indicates that the plate resistor must be 100k (R = V / I = 50 / 0.5mA = 100k). Since this is in parallel with r P and R G of the next stage, the total load resistance is 42.5k.

Webb30 nov. 2008 · The screen grid is supposed to help isolate the control grid (the part that controls how much voltage reaches the plate) and increase the overall gain (the part that controls how much voltage reaches the plate) from the plate (basically receives the voltage that will come out of the tube). WebbNot good, as the split-load phase splitter needs to see something closer to 50% of the power-supply noise at its input to balance the PSRR from its two outputs. One workaround is to shunt the 43k plate resistor with a 49.9k resistor and 2.2µF capacitor in series. The gain drops to about ten (20dB) and 41.5% of the power-supply noise escapes ...
