It emphasizes grid treatment of the at-risk peripheral retina extending from the ora serrata halfway to the vortex vein ampullae. WebbOur finding of 36.3% eyes with RD despite prior laser prophylaxis questions the benefit of this intervention in the fellow eyes of patients with Stickler syndrome and RRD. The interval of RRD after laser prophylaxis in our study ranged from 1 week to 10 years. In fact, two eyes developed RRD within 2 weeks after prophylactic laser application.
