Web2 Feb 2011 · The problem with the standard couplings supplied with British rtr stock (apart from the ugly appearance) is that hand uncoupling requires a lifting action which also tends to lift the wagon off the track at the same time. Hand uncoupling with the S & W couplings needs only a light downward pressure which also tends to seperate the wagons.
